Rogé Girard

Rogé Girard (born in 1972, Quebec, Canada) is a Montreal-based artist whose practice is devoted to non-figurative painting. His work explores the possibilities of abstraction through nuanced surfaces, layered gestures, and a distinctive approach to color and form. While remaining resolutely abstract, his works evoke the presence of landscapes and fragments of nature. Each canvas thus becomes a mental territory, both intimate and open—a dialogue between interior and exterior, where the viewer is invited to wander, to feel rather than to recognize.

Rogé Girard is also a renowned illustrator, having twice received the Governor General’s Award of Canada and earned recognition from The New York Times. His work has recently been exhibited in Los Angeles, Miami, Paris, New York, and Montreal.
