Heidi Hundseth Hart

Heidi Hundseth Hart is a visual artist based in Oslo, Norway. Born in Balestrand, West-Norway.

Hart explores the practice of handmade monotype drawings on Washi paper, where each piece is a unique one- of- a- kind print.

Monotype is a method of print making through the application of aqua-based ink paint on to a glass plate, which is reduced and shaped into the desired image. The plate is then carefully laid onto hight quality Japanese paper from the Awagami factory and is pulled with the use of a Yasutomo bamboo baren. The result is varies in each iteration based on the amount of paint used between the paper the plate and how much pressure that is applied when mounted.

“ In my work I seek to capture a special moment— a relationship, a unique style or design through colors, shapes and negative space. I’m inspired deeply by the memory of being surrounded by nature from my hometown Balestrand— famous for its majestic mountains, nature and light, all the while experiencing the energy, culture and connectedness of living in a city.”
