Megan Koons

Megan Koons is a mixed media artist who lives and works in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009. Her practice combines a hybrid process of painting, weaving, and collage to create layered environments that reference both real and imagined places.

Koons’ compositions invite close looking and reflection, offering spaces that feel familiar yet unsettled. By collapsing distinctions between painting and textile, image and object, her work questions traditional hierarchies within visual culture while honoring small, often overlooked moments in the natural world. These constructed landscapes become quiet records of attention, presence, and the passing of experience through generations.
